Valentines Day

We made this a few years ago.  We got an old board and put glue on it and sprinkle jello on it.  Then did a different color around the side.  Cut out their hand prints and glued them and used jello on them.  Just candy for the heart and permanent marker for the writing.  They loved doing this and we will be doing something like this again but a little different.

Hand prints

Hand prints made out of just some elmer glue and a box of jello.  You put there hand in the glue and put it on the paper and then sprinkle the jello out of the box on it and it makes their hand prints raised up and colorful.  You can take it, put their name, age, and year on it and frame it and always have their hand prints of being little.

fun with blocks

The kids made a huge tower.  Simple things that make them happy.  You don't have to go and buy a bunch of things.  My girls are 8 and 9 and we kept these from when they were little but they now build huge things with them and castles.  We play together with them

Relay for life sign

A sign we made for Relay for Life.  Just being creative with the kids and letting them help.

Exercise

Fun exercise with the kids.  Have fun and lose your belly at the same time.

Painting Magnets

All you need is magnets and paint and the kids will have fun :)  I am going to experiment this weekend and I think I will be able to make my own magnets and if so will post how.

Monkey shirt

This was one of the shirts we painted for the zoo.  A few years later and still looking good :)

Our craft we did today.  All you need is a folder, glue, scissors, markers, pipe cleaners for the middle of the butterfly and their antennas, fruit loops and fruit pebbles.  I also use spray adhesive to seal it afterwards.  We used a butterfly pattern and traced it, cut a piece of pipe cleaner for the middle of the body and did the same for the attennas.  Then put the glue on and they used the cereal to fill it in.  As you can tell they are both different, my Sierra wanted a sun and grass and Dakota wanted to crosses on hers.  Then we wrote on the bottom with a marker.  Then used the spay adhesive to hold it on better.  If they do their share with the house every day, they get to add something they would like to do on the weekend with us, like watch a movie, mommy time, color, read, etc.  So depending how much they help the more choices will be in there to choose from.  Then on Sunday after we get home from Church they can draw one out and we will do that with them.  I am thinking of doing another on but that is where we do something with reading.
These were made a few years ago.  All it took was paint from walmart, tshirt, permanent marker, and a coloring page.  We were going to the zoo and we wanted the kids to have a shirt that matched the grown up that was with them.  So this one was my mom's shirt.
This was my oldest, my mom was the one she was to stay with.  So they both had lions on their shirt.

When I found my youngest's and mine I will post them.  We both had monkeys on our shirts.  I am going to make more.

Depending on how much it would cost to do, I might considering making these and selling them if anyone is interested.

Creative art

Top one is my 8 year old's Dakota all it takes is frame from Dollar Tree or any craft store, wood glue, food coloring, rice, beans and white vinegar.  You take a bottle of food coloring in a bowl put your rice or beans in and add vinegar.  Let it soak until you get to the color you desire and then stick them on a cookie sheet to dry.  Repeat until you have enough rice and beans that you want and then let dry for 48 hours.  Then put the wood glue on and create a work of art :)
Middle one is Hannah and she is 1 1/2 with a little bit of help  all it takes is frame from Dollar Tree or any craft store, wood glue, food coloring, rice, beans and white vinegar.
Bottom one is my 9 year old Sierra's  all it takes is frame from Dollar Tree or any craft store, wood glue, a few pipe cleaners, cotton balls, food coloring, rice, beans and white vinegar.

Who would be interested in in buy a kit from me with all the supplies to do this and I will have it designed on the inside for you.    I am thinking about selling either individual or as a set of 4.  What do you think?

Happy Birthday Banner

All this was is the table cloth that you use for receptions and stuff.  I had left over but anything would work.  Then we just made our Pastor and Happy Birthday Banner out of Rice and Beans :)

A little bit of wood and markers and you have beautiful art

Here is a cheap but fun project for the kids, you can get them about anywhere.  I got these at Dollar Tree and it comes with 3 markers.  The middle one a 1 1/2 year old colored and only used the kid markers it came with.  But the frog and monkey my 8 and 9 year old colored and I let them use permanent markers so the would have more choices and I knew that they wouldn't mark on anything else.  So the price of all 3 of these were $ 3.15.  For that you just created a memory with you kids, made them happy and had fun with them.  Crafts don't have to be expensive just little things to enjoy with them :)

Mother's Day Craft

Supplies you will need if you want to make the art project I am going to be posting this weekend for Mother's Day.  Tubes of food coloring, Ziplock bags, either poster board or construction paper, rice and beans.  It is going to be an awesome project.  Can't wait to share with you.

Rock painting

All it took was a heart rock found outside, paint, markers for the letters and we had fun painting this and then presented to Pastor Andy and The Adventure Church.  It was a great project and even better when we gave it to him for the church :)

Kids designing their own pants

Paint from Walmart and an old pair of jeans and your kids can design their own pants.  Mine loved this and will be doing more.

Tablecloth craft

Here is a great fun project with the kids.  If you have little ones you could use finger paint.  I bought a 24 thing of paint at Walmart for $10.00 then the tablecloth at Dollar Tree $1.00 and that equals happy kids which is priceless :)  As you can see they put paint on their selves but paint washes away but they will never forget the memories that you just created with them.

Swan my youngest made

Swan my youngest made :)  I will try and find how to make this and post it so if you want to make it.

Goldilocks and the three bears read along story

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oaw-d3r_gIc&feature=colike

Here is a story for you today :)  That your kids can read along while listening to the story.  I am going to post one daily
My oldest made this you just take a bandanna or a square piece of material and then use ribbons to make ears and a ribbon to put one around the neck to make the head.  You can make it many different ways this is her favorite one, she made me for Easter

Indoor camping

Not a craft but always a fun thing to do with the kids.  Have your own camping experience in the house :)  Mine love this :)

Picture craft

Fun craft with the kids and cheap.  I bought the colorful dividers at Dollar Tree and cut the tabs off.  Then find a picture you want to glue on it, or you could display art work that they have done on it,  so many different things you could do.  Then help if they are little if not let them write on it and design around it how they want and then you can display it :)  Another thing you could do with this for little ones is post nursery rhymes or poetry on them for older kids.  If you didn't have this you could you construction paper and it would work :)  I chose these for the brightness.

Cup craft

Here is one that we did that, is great if you have more than one child or if you watch other kids.  I picked these up at Dollar Tree but you should be able to find them at any store or online.  Then you just pick a picture that you want to use and if they are old enough you can put the outline for them where to cut and have them cup and then insert the picture and they will always know which up is theirs.  That makes it so much  nicer, that you don't have to worry about them drinking after one another.
